5/1 - Flea's Birthday

Today was May 1st, 2012 and it would have been Flea's 40th birthday.  I'm not even going to get into how sad that is so I'll just say sis, we miss you and we'll be doing our best to live it up in your honor.

Anyway the day was spent doing some sad and some happy things.  For the first part, Renita and I went to the Picture People to take some maternity photos.  They turned out great!  I've omitted the photos with the baby's name as we don't know the sex of the child yet so that would be silly. We had a ton of fun and are looking forward to going back once the kid is here.

In the afternoon, Misha, mom, and I visited Flea's grave.  We don't have a headstone yet but that will get taken care of soon.  Mourning over unmarked graves is a whole new level of grief for me.

A makeshift cross for our beloved sister.  Misha added a flower later.  I promise we'll do better Flea, so stop looking down and laughing at us. :-P

4/29 - The next day...

I think we got maybe 2 1/2 hours of sleep before meeting Mark & co. for the Cards game.  I wanted to just stay in and sleep but I wasn't about to bail on a good friend or Cardinals baseball.  The last pic shows just the beginning of the clean-up process.  I would have taken more when I fully cleaned up but I was way too exhausted and singularly-focused.

I love this pic

Dreary day, Cards lost (on a bizarre double-play run down for the last two outs) but we still had a fantastic time.

4/28 - Part 2

I guess you've got to remember the good and bad alike, so here's the flipside of the party.  Shortly after everyone left and Graham and I'd gotten back from dropping off Brian (the hail destroyed his car's back window and messed up his windshield), I return to find out the loft is flooding!  Big thanks to Misha & Graham who kept everything from getting ruined.

Oh and if you were thinking this was due to the crazy storm that I mentioned before, you'd be wrong.  Apparently someone's toilet two floors above us backed up/overflowed.  That would explain why all of the 'water' was yellowish... *vomits*

Half-asleep and cleaning up filth and Misha STILL has to be fly! lol

Don't laugh (I did at first).  The cups worked brilliantly!

The house stayed like this for nearly a week (well, minus the cups o' pisswater)

It even came from the lights!

4/28 - Housewarming Party

Finally, on to the pictures!  At this point, I'm only using my phone's (Samsung Infuse) camera for now, but that'll change eventually.  Anyway, there's two sets of pictures here. First, I joined Brian at the Rams Draft Day party.  I probably would have taken more pics had I enjoyed it but as usual I didn't like the Rams draft strategy at all so we just hung out and laughed and joked.  Lol @ me not even having a pic including him.  I threw in a pic of us at the Blues game from a few weeks past to suffice.

The second set is from our housewarming party on 4/28.  Not pictured is the crazy storm that hit just before, pelting cars and windows alike with golf ball-sized hail and turning the sky pitch black.  Still, a good time was had by all who showed up.  Thanks again to all friends and family involved!

Me with the Lombardi Trophy!
